Could you help me find a video editor

At some point since my last video I finally managed to buy myself a new camera and here comes my problem. The old program i used to edit my videos doesn't seem to recognize any of the files. It's really frustrating as I've already tried a few editors and none seem to work T^T

If you happen to know any program that works with AVCHD files please let me know ^^. Also if it helps the model i have is a CANON Legria HFR16 ( i have nothing but the USB cable and the charger).

It would be loads of help. And thank you, even if you just read the thread :D

I use Powerdirector for my AVCHD files. But instead of just finding an editor for those file types, try downloading the Freemake Video Converter and changing your AVCHD files into .AVIs. That's what I do.

adobe premiere can handle any format. but it is a little pricey so it depends on your budget i would recommend downloading mpeg stream clip. it is a free program that alows you to change you video files file type and codec into a more edit friendly format. i would post the link but im not a vip just google it it will come right up with the download page i hope that helps. happy editing

Mpeg Streamclip is great for batch converting your files into a more editable format. Also, what editor are you using?

Actually not the case for me, i used a HD camera to record video and when i imported into the Adobe Premiere it would not recognize the sound in the video.

Thus for Software i recommend Sony Vegas 12(or 11) because that is the only program that allowed me to have both sound and video imported from my original footage.

I actually tried to install both of them and seems like for both versions my authentication code is never the right one.

Contact support if you are having trouble, normally i use Adobe Premiere Pro but for some reason for camera footage i have to use Sony Vegas 12 since its the only one that renders with sound.
