Could I do a guitar tutorial video series?

Hello everyone out there in yttalk land, Kevin here. On my channel up until now I've only done gaming videos. But I recently had an idea to do a guitar tutorial series for absolute beginners but with a twist. See, I myself am only out of the beginner stage of learning guitar so its still fresh in my head how much it sucks at the start. I could teach little tricks I've picked up to help me learn faster, I could teach little riffs and licks that kept me motivated to stick with the guitar. What is everyone's opinion on that?

Go for it, mate - whatever have you got to lose? There really is no wrong thing to do on YouTube (except obvious criminal activities of course!) :)

No reason not to give it a try if it interest you. May even find yourself getting better at the guitar while making the videos. :thumbsup2:

Seems like an interesting take. I have a guitar but can't really play it all that well. It might actually be kind of nice to learn along with someone, instead of learning with someone who is already good. Just got to make sure that you're making videos that will be helpful to others.

Thanks Cynical. Do you reckon this would be a somewhat unique take on guitar instructional videos?

As mentioned already - if you're doing it genuinely then it could be a good thing. If you're going to mess around then no. Tough to be 'unique' on the internet, but try it out - no-one ever found the answers without asking questions first! ;)

That sounds like a cool idea, I'd say give it a try! Possibly consider having an alternate channel for it depending on if your subscribers are interested in you, yourself or the gaming in the videos? They are pretty different genres of videos but it sounds fun, hopefully it works out!

I'd definitely watch it, since I'm a beginner as well. I say make it fun for your audience and to also motivate your viewers to keep going. I know myself, I'd do 2 videos, and then stop....lol
