Copyrighting ideas?

Hi,

I'm fairly new here and just wondered what you guys thought about this topic. So I have many ideas and scripts that I have written and want to share them however am worried that people will steal the ideas and use them before I can. I was wondering if it was a better idea to copyright my stuff before i share it on the internet or if it doesn't matter?

Thanks

An idea is not protected by copyrights. Start your work, make your contents, then copyrights apply. In the mean time don't share it around I guess.

What does copyright protect?
Copyright, a form of intellectual property law, protects original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture. Copyright does not protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation, although it may protect the way these things are expressed

Yeah that's what i was thinking, but i was hoping to share my scripts around to some people to get input before i produce them haha thanks for the advice though

If you're thinking about sharing the scripts around then why not only share little sections that you think might need work? :)

If you have certain people with whom you share a script you can let them sign a non-disclosure agreement. You would of course need to offer them something for their effort.
