Copyright Situation with silent games

So for a while i uploaded a few games, but copyright strikes due to correct copyrighted music material in the games themself.
Is this a common thing? That game creators don't hold the rights to the music in their games?

Well whatever.
Am i safe if i mute the in game sound and just put the game sound itself in the game and then throw in some royalty free / royalty music i own the rights to in the video?

Should the games stay copyright clean in that case?

You can simply turn off the music in your games. That's what I do when I record FIFA 16. They have lots of soundtracks so I just mute them but leave everything else on. That'll fix your problem!

I did not do Fifa 16. I tried Plug & Play which relies on the in game music a lot. It is an experience rather than a game.
But i am waiting for the answer from the game devs

Thats right! You can mute the game music and put the royalty free music in it. I always prefer doing that

YouTube itself has a lot of royalty free music you can choose from and should do the job just fine!
