Copyright question and new monetisation rules question

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to ask about reading from storybooks. Would this constitute as a copyright violation? I see people doing it but want to be sure before I attempt it.
I also wanted to know about monetization, I am aware that YouTube is no longer monetizing videos aimed at children but are there other options? I would like some financial compensation but to be honest even without it, I just want to do this as I am passionate and feel there's a need.
Appreciate any feedback and answers.
Kind regards

yt still monetizes kids videos with contextual ads. As far as reading book it might fly but if an author finds his/her video he can stop you from reading their work. It might happen if you will become a big channel. You can still read old tails and novels that are a public domain

Hey Gael. I've thought about reading one of my favorite books as well. It might not get copy-write striken but it will likely get copy-write claimed, meaning all monetization will go to the publisher, writer ...etc

Whether you see people doing it or not, I would not suggest that you read copyrighted content as a video format.

You never know if the rights holders would start cracking down on the practice. You don't know if they would claim it and get all of the revenue or if they would do copyright take downs and you risk your channel being shut down.

I am pretty sure that this is an older thread about this same subject.
I am pretty sure the outcome was to NOT read copyrighted material (Books) on YouTube.
But take a search for it.

I doubt if this is creative enough to get monetized. It could fall under reused content. But if it's your passion, go for it! But I wouldn't expect monetization at all.
