I've Got It
Hey Yall,

I was wondering if anyone would have a good way to contact an artist to hopes to use their songs. As in the best format to contact them in.

If a forum has already been made and I somehow didn't see it, feel free to post the link or message me.

Highly Appreciate It!
- Thank you!

Last year I contacted an artist with almost 2million subscribers via the contact page on his website. He responded in a day or so and we came up with an agreement to use his songs in my videos.

If the artist whose music you want to use is Independent, email is the best way, as the prior poster mentioned. If the artist is a major one and signed to a record label however, you will need to get in touch with the label itself; as they own the copyright to the recordings while the artist is under contract to them, and sometimes even after such a contract has ended.

Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame did a concert in which he performed Pink Floyd songs he himself was composer, performer and producer on while he was under contract to a label after that contract ended; and was promptly sued for that performance due to the fact that the copyrights to the music had remained with the label after the band left.

I dont know if there is a forum like that but I would say the best way is to contact them via hompages or maybe facebook/twitter. I it is a really big artist my guess is that you have to go through their record labels.
Hey they might even have a YouTube channel and you could give it a shot to contact them via YouTube:)
