copyright and parodies

I've Got It
hi guys

i've searched for a few hours now. and i didn't found exactly what i wanted to know.

i've read, that in parodies copyright protected music can be used.
but the definition of a parody is extremly variable.
i want to use psy's gentleman. only the music, the video will be totally self made.

i also read psy deleted the copyright of gangnam style, so everybody can use it. did he do this with gentleman too?

and can i monetize this video? or is this against the rules?

thanks and greez

No? you cannot "delete" copyright, the original creator will always retain the rights until something like 50-60 years when a copyright expires.

Parodies/spoofs can be fair use in most cases so long as it is comedic

thsnk you for your reply

yeah, thats what i thought with deleting the copyright doesn't work..
even if you die it remains about 30 years.

so to monetize i have to check the checkboxes who ask if i own the whole content of the video (or something like that)
if i don't select those, will it even be used for monetization?

That process has gone I think, you just click monetize this video, select the ad formats and save then just wait and see if it's approved
