Considering to re-plan my channel

Hana

Loving YTtalk
So I've been making content for about a year now. Hmm, well I stopped in about August last year then started again in December-ish.

During this time, I've had time to evaluate my channel through analytics and all that

I intended to make content based on science and engineering - the way it went over the past year is that the content came out very electronics based (things like how does a diode work? how does an LED work? etc) the people who commented requesting more videos were VERY electronics-oriented like make a video on PAM (pulse modulation).

If you haven't studied engineering/electronics, the above probably sounds like gibberish. I feel like my content is becoming very technical and aimed towards people who already have an understanding of it - making my audience very limited.

I want to make my audience more broader. I want to go for more like "minute physics" like content. Or even a Vsauce like feel (though Vsauce's content is more concentrated around human psychology stuff)

I also think I include more stuff about ME. Or at least show that i know what I'm talking about or that I'm qualified to talk about this

Anyone got any opinions? all the help i can get is great : )

P.S. ALSO, the most unexpected videos get most views! Like I upload some vlogs and they just blow up! Should I switch to just vlogs??

Number one, make what you want to make, watch and enjoy!

Minute physics sounds good. I find complicated things become interesting when described in an interesting way so taking time to plan what you're going to say and so on is good.

As for vlogs, personally since there is so many people doing vlogs already I say separate yourself with the science stuffs but still do vlogs with it. That way you get the interesting bits mixed with the personal bits and varies your channel a touch. We do the same thing but with music. Focus on music but have vlogs and silly things to vary it!

Good luck with it :)

Amazing advice by Matty!!! I think your minute physics idea is really cool too. You are already categorizing your videos properly and everything on your channel looks in place.

Just do what you want to do most and you'll do just fine. Good luck with whatever you decide! :)

I think it's a wonderful idea, I've no history in engineering but seeing the theory and practical interest me.
As well as learning about the advances we've made over the year. You've earned another sub today ^.^

Given that the only women-hosted STEM channels I can think of are The Brain Scoop and Vi Hart, I think a channel that's geared a little bit more toward the lay audience would be incredibly welcome. I don't know a diode from a diet, but I'd love to have someone explain that sort of thing to me on a level I could understand.

That's very true. I'll keep that in mind
