Hana

Loving YTtalk
Hello! So I've been making videos for around a year now.

I'm re-thinking a lot of stuff and condering what to do about my name

It is currently Hana Zener Diode - which is my name on Facebook (as a result of freinds changing stuff on my profile years ago)

I kept Zener Diode because it's an electronic component and kinda went with the science based content i was doing.

But I'm thinking a zener diode isn't really commonly known and I want to go with something more popular - like Hana Neutron. Is it bad if Jimmy Neutron (that cartoon) is already out there?!

I've thought about it and I feel like I like that name better, any advice?

Also, how do I change my user url?

I though that Zener Diode, though obviously sciency in retrospect, was just an interesting name. Hana Neutron seems low brow in comparison. At the end of the say though, I don't think a name will have much impact on your progress, and changing it after a year might put a little dent in things although I doubt it. Just an opinion though, I could be wrong.

I feel like Hana Neutron will attract viewers who aren't as sciency as others - I'll be honest, until I finished reading your post I thought Zener Diode was actually your middle and last name! So if your videos have a fun tone/theme and that's the audience you're going for then I say go for it. But to people who are more into science it might seem a little silly, but I don't think it would take away from the message you're delivering

I like Zener Diode better because it is more original but it doesn't really have a ring to it. I think you should change it to Hana Zener because it has more of a ring to it and I feel like it is an easier name to remember you by if people wanted to search your name in Youtube.

Neutron is too commonly used. It will attracted more people but if these people really understand your content is another question. It may attract younger viewers as well considering it's common use for younger sciencey figures (Jimmy Neutron). So it all depends on this fact: Do you want a younger adience that you may have to dumb your content down for or do you want to stay as you are and do as you please.
Also, my comment may be invalid considering I did not view any of your videos prior to commenting so I do not know how advanced you science content is. In retrospect I probably should have. But I believe you can make a fair judgement by yourself. Good luck.
