My friend, I think you should rebrand in my opinion. Free to download music only means that you can "Download it free and not pay for it" BUT Royalty free music, this means as you know, free comercial usage. I believe that rebranding will get you an exponential increase in both traffic and subscribers, for there are thousands perhaps million of small and medium size channels looking for these. I already have a few friends I have spread the word to that are using your royalty free tracks in their videos.

The reason be, people type "Royalty free Music for youtube videos" on google search, and "Royalty free music" all that traffic will give your channel a load of exposure. Besides, I would love to see your channel outrank all these phony sites fill with gang-banging popping ads...

So there's my input. As always, I would be happy to promote your branding in my networks and ask for them to link or talk about you in their pages and socials to help you rank higher on the google search for those keywords! LETS DO THIS!

f**k Yeah!
CPS - *******! (I'm happy today, and felt like writing that hahaha)
:D

One thing I hear over and over is that youtube only considers someone to have permission on music if that person holds written permission, so nobody can actually use the music on your channel unless they get permission from the owners of the copyright themselves. It's very risky to use any music you do not have written permission to use because at any time that person can say 'this violates my copyright' and then your channel can get shut down.

Might need to rebrand back to just 'free to download and listen to' because the other isn't actually possible unless you're having the copyright holders email everyone written permission who is going to use this music in their youtube videos.

I have written permission for every single track I use.
I started recording screenshots of them the first few days, heres a sample
The tracks we promote do not contain samples of other tracks unlike 95% of similar channels.

I went ahead with the rebranding at oscars advice, and it's turning out very well.f

EDIT: This is a hobby for me aswell, we've only promoted underground music (half with under 100 views/listens) and I take it fairly seriously. I include links to all the socialnetworks our featured artists use so you may contact them to obtain permission if you wish.

I know you have them, but for others to use them they would also have to have written permission.

This is incorrect,
Please familiarize yourself with creative commons which requires only attribution:

Any other questions?.

Creative commons doesn't really apply to youtube since they don't honor it.

Look you can do whatever you want with your channel. I'm just trying to warn you in advance and hopefully teach some people how music works on youtube. If you tell people they can use music without written permission, you're giving them false info and could lead to their channels being shut down. I've seen it happen before.
