Gaming and Goofing
Ben Plays Games
Hi everyone, I'm Ben. My channel, Ben Plays Games, is just taking off, having hit 100 subscribers yesterday. Up to this point the channel and various social media have only had whatever graphics I was able to find or toss together. Now that I hit my first milestone I've decided I need to pull things together into a cohesive web presence. This is a bit of a list, so I'll preempt this with a thank you for anyone who reads through this whole thing and is considering this large project.
Design
I don't have any specific design criteria to give at the outset but I'll try to describe my thoughts. I'd like things to have a "feel" much like myself and my channel, which I would describe as "happy, enthusiastic, and passionate about games". Something with a retro-like look (see my various playlists for ideas) and not focused on any specific game. Beside that I'm looking for quite a bit of input from the designer.
Compensation
I am willing to consider real cash money as payment, but money is tight, so that would push back the time frame of this project significantly. Other methods of compensation I am offering are YTtalk cash and promotion of your website or channel. For promotion I am willing to have credits included in any graphics (except avatar), feature a YouTube channel or website on my channel page, include links in video descriptions, or even credits within videos (including annotated link if possible). The exact terms of any compensation will be what we discuss as being fair at time of hire.
Needed Pieces
What I'm looking for is someone who can create the following graphics and keep the feel consistent between sites and formats.
Avatar (will display in various sizes)
- Since the avatar is the most direct representation of me, I'd like it to be a photo of myself (yet to be taken) with perhaps a logo and/or the name of my channel, identifiable from Facebook to Twitter sizes.
YouTube Channel Background (non-partner)
http://www.youtube.com/bwochinski
- I am not yet a full partner, so I don't have a banner just the background area. The current background is a mediocre Minecraft design I got from a free YT background site. If you were to create the full partner background and banner as well that may be desirable, since I am undecided on which partnership direction to go.
Twitter Background
http://www.twitter.com/bwochinski
- I have one of the twitter default options, it doesn't really fit with anything else. It's kind of pretty though.
Facebook Cover
http://www.facebook.com/BenPlaysGames
- This will obviously be paired with the Avatar, as mentioned above, and making use of that would be cool. Don't look too much at the current cover, that was me just playing with filters in GIMP.
Blog Background
Blog Header
http://bwochinski.com/
- This blog I've had for some time and it is really ready for some freshening up, so bringing it in line with the rest of my media is only natural. I'm not sure of the exact dimensions for either item but I can figure them out when needed. If you were to have suggestions for color choices on the site to go with the new graphics (header text, links, etc) that would be great, otherwise I can just match things myself.
Totally Optional
These are items that would be cool to have. If you aren't able to do them that'd be alright.
Video Thumbnail Template
- A template file with basic images or text that can I can use to create custom thumbnails for videos on my channel. It should allow for some easy text and graphic edits each time to prevent everything appearing too homogeneous.
Video Intro
- A dynamic video intro, about 6-8 seconds long, for inclusion at the beginning of my videos. I can completely understand if you were to skip this one, and it is not necessary or high priority.
Video Outro Template
- A simple image or template file for inclusion at the end of videos that can be used to link to other videos or my channel with annotations.
