Community-Based Channel?

I don't know what's going on.
Lately I've been playing with the idea of opening a "community channel". This basically means that anybody who finds it can submit videos to be uploaded to the channel, if they wish to do so. It's similar to what we have with YTTalkTV; another example is TYTNation. The thing is, you wouldn't have to make a separate video for the purposes of that channel; we could mirror a video on your channel, so people can get a sample of what you're like in your natural state. People could also subscribe if they were interested in encountering new users and finding new talent on the site.

Out of curiosity, if I did this, how many would be willing to contribute towards such a channel? How many would like to submit videos to the channel? Do you have any thoughts or concerns about the potential project? Also, does anybody have any potential name ideas for what the channel could be called? I think it should have a community-centered title, but I couldn't come up with anything good on my own. Feel free to share your thoughts below. Thanks :)

They obviously have to comply with TOS, but beyond that, anything could go. Comedy, Sketches, Music, Rants, Commentaries, Educational Videos, Daily Vlogs, Gaming Footage, Reviews, whatever. Of course there'd have to be some type of limit on how often you can upload, so a few people don't take over the channel, but any genre would be open!
 
Who would own the channel? Would the channel be owned by everyone who contributes or will it be a channel like machinima?

The channel would have to be owned by one person. If not, and multiple people had access to it, they could go crazy one day and delete the profile, removing all the progress made. In this example, I would control the channel, because it's my idea. Anybody could do it under this model though.
 
So it would be a channel for the community with no ads...etc? Or you would get ads and pay for the controbutors (like machinima)

I wouldn't monetize the channel. It would just have the purpose of sharing videos and exposing people to a wider audience. I'm not in it for profit.
 
Yeh man sounds like a honest proposition. I would contribute deffo, could become quite big is what I was thinking. Greed gets to all of us, just wanted to see where you stood. :)

Ive seen people try this but say there gona monitise it! lol
