CJ E&M Claim on Outlast?

RedFox

YTTalk's Fox
So I uploaded an outlast video and when it was uploaded I noticed later it had 3rd Party Claim, from CJ E&M..I read on a steam post that they are spam and are claiming outlast videos for ad revenue..can they do this and get away with it?

They claimed the part where *spoiler* the guy catches you while your going through the gap and throws you through the windows, I disputed it but it was going to take a month so I deleted the video.

Anybody else get claimed by them?

I'm not doing outlast due to there being so many playthroughs already (not because I'm a wuss, swear.)

I think you should have kept it up and disputed it, they have nothing to do with it.

Yeah, but it was going to take a month to get it through so I decided to delete and re-upload, however if it happens again I will dispute and wait it out.

Wuss.

Just dispute it, most fake companies like this usually back down from a dispute as they have no copyright permissions. I'd also recommend trying to report them to the entitled copyright owners. Funny thing is Google won't even help you until the real copyright owners step in (which is rare) as that's where Google can get into some real trouble themselves lol

Why do morons must do this, and I hope Red Barrels clamps down on these scam companies attempting to claim their IP.
For money, some of these a-holes even admit to it yet keep doing it.

This. I'm new to the game and in my infinite wisdom (or lackthereof) thought I'd run a Ducktales Remastered LP along with GTAV LP to start the channel. GTAV got me about 6 ID matches the first 5 vids. 1 vid was matched twice by two different companies. Needless to say, I started googling and learned about companies that pray on channels to make their cash and youtube not intervening. So I disputed each one noting Rockstar's claim on youtube content and over turned all of them within a day I would get flagged. Hasn't happen since.
