Choosing the right category for your channel

I have a dilemma about which category I should choose for my channel. I understand a question like this should be very obvious but I have a choice since I can do content in various fields / categories... My goal is to monetize the channel. I heard that one should by all means choose comedy / entertainment categories... And I also heard that education channels are very hard to monetize for some reason... How does choosing different categories translate to monetization limitations and other conditions? I'm planning on doing a science channel with a high entertainment value to it. (I hope)

I made my channel an Education channel, but I think - especially after seeing everyone elses channel type - I should have been HowTo and Style.

It'll be interesting to know more about this, but right now I don't know if I have had any adverse effects. I might give it a change and look and see if there are bumps in any graphs.
