There are many on YouTube who are unsure how they can check their statistics as they go and see how well their videos and channel is performing and there are some awesome tools out there which I am going to let you all know about.

Checking your stats is vital if you want to see how people are interacting with your channel and content, you can see where you may or may not need to improve by checking them.

To begin with I will recommend using the built in YouTube analytics which is part of your YouTube account, you can check up on loads of interesting information for example:

Your video views.

The demographics of your viewers such as their age and gender.

The countries your audience is viewing your videos from.

The traffic sources to your videos.

Your audience retention (how long and well you keep people viewing your videos).

How people are interacting with your videos annotations.

All of this can easily be accessed by visiting your analytics here:

https://www.youtube.com/analytics?vmv=2&feature=mhsn

From there you can choose what you want to view. The best thing you can do is use these stats to your own advantage, they can tell you a lot of good information. For example, you may have a comedy channel, checking the age of those viewing your videos could allow you to create better content for the age bracket or give you the signal to start creating videos aimed at other age groups.

You could check your audience retention too to see where people leave during your videos and see if you can keep them hooked or improve your jokes. Use this information the best you can and learn from it!

Next up is VidStatsX and SocialBlade, they both allow you to check up on a load of information about your channel and videos and subscribers. They don't give such in depth stats as the YouTube Analytics but they do show information that isnt available through the standard Analytics such as subscriber gain and loss which many consider important info especially when wanting to partner.

Some of the most useful information VidStatsX and SocialBlade provide about your channel are:

Video Views Change Per Day

Subscriber Count Change Per Day

Estimated Earnings Per Day

Averages Per 30 Days

They also tell you how long it will be based on these averages an estimate when you will reach new subscriber goal and how long it will take to reach them and the same with view count too.

If you want to check your own VidStatsX page or SocialBlade you can do so by visiting the links below and searching your channel username:

http://vidstatsx.com/

http://socialblade.com/youtube/

Alternatively simply add your username to the URLs like so:

http://vidstatsx.com/MyUsername/youtube-channel

http://socialblade.com/youtube/MyUsername

These are the two best ways to check your own YouTube stats, you dont need to check them all the time but now and then certainly is a good way to gauge how others are interacting with your channel and videos and how well you are promoting them.

Thanks for reading :)
