Cheap but good mics?

I've Got It
So I've been looking into getting a new mic, because my old one has a bit of noise, and sometimes thinks it disconnects and reconnects. If I don't notice that, my voice recording will stop, and I have already tried loosing 45min of hilarious footage, so good that I had to reenact myself and record it again, it was simply too good to miss! (Fraps keeps recording, Audacity stops)

Anyways, I'm looking for a new noise-free and solid mic. But I have a budget: max around 80-100$ (if I stretch). I have been looking into the Blue Snowball, but I have also heard and seen that there are others that are cheaper but better. I just can't seem to find them.

So my question is, can you come up with any microphones that are cheaper but better than the Blue Snowball? Or just generally cheap for it's quality?

i'm not sure but from what I have heard the blue snowball is A decent mic. I have been using my $50 headset which is doing good for me but once I get A few hundred subs I'm upgrading to something like the blue snowball

Well what is your budget? Remember you want inexpensive not cheap.. All the Blue Mics are fantastic from what I have experienced. We use the Yeti Pro which is a bit more then the snowball.

I use the "Samson Go Mic" which I've been more than happy with and that falls within your budget.

I'd also recommend you use the forum search (http://yttalk.com/search/?type=post) because there are lots of long threads with lots of information about microphones.

Good luck :)

I'm hopefully getting the Blue Snowball for Christmas, I'm aware Christmas is today but due to various reasons we're having ours on 28th. One of my friends, @Garthos infact uses the Blue Snowball and it's really good quality.

The blue snowball is a great affordable starter mic., and you can find them for $50. If you are willing to spend more, the yeti is a great mic as well.
