Channel Trailer

So I'm looking to make up a channel trailer and been doing just some searching across youtube to see what others have done and possibly get some inspiration but not sure what I want to do yet.. I'm kind of wanting to sit down and talk to the camera and of course add video clips and photos especially since my intro to my videos only has photos and small clips. Honestly I'm just dying to use my new studio and take some updated photos lol

What types of trailers do you prefer to see? What draws you in more?

^ I mean I never really seen a GOOD channel trailer, I would rather click on a video that might interest me. But some can good, Lukeisnotsexy's trailer was pretty funny because it was just him making a video, not really trying to make it seem like a typical trailer.

I really like channel trailers and I think they are very useful. I have seen some really great trailers, my favorites include ones that have a mix of talking and clips of videos that you do. I know that Sorted Foods trailer is amazing! Also, iJustine's is really good. Please don't judge me by mine, I am working on a new one but I don't want to change my current one until my new one is perfect. It will be soon. I will tell you that my channel trailer has lots of views compared to other videos on my channel so obviously people watch them.

maximum of 30 seconds for me. And it must be very punchy!

What's the viewer retention and is it set to play automatically when going to your channel (that explains the views).

I think the channels that make the best use of trailers are ones that have a lot of "action" in their videos and can clip all the randomness together with some background music and a voice over. For most of us though, just having your most recent and / or popular video seems to be the best play early on.

It is set to play if you aren't a subscriber, once you subscribe it doesn't. Over it's lifetime it has had 3577 views and has been watched for 1554 minutes. Until yesterday it was 39 seconds long. I uploaded my new trailer last night, it is 1 minute long but much better quality.

It has only gotten 5 subscribers but considering it is only 39 seconds long I wouldn't think it would get many subscribers. Hopefully it has lead to other videos watched. Not sure how I would track that, any ideas?

I don't think the watch time is bad considering the most watch time it could have gotten was 2325 minutes. What do you think?
