Channel Promotion Contest

So I was think of holding a contest for my subscribers.

They would comment down below saying why they think there videos deserved to be known then at the end of the week/month I go through them all, then the channel I like the most will feature on my channel.

What do you guys think of that?

Sounds fine, aslong as you don't say subscribe to me for a shoutout. If you make it about your current subs its fine but as soon as it goes into asking non-subscribers to sub, they will do so just for the shoutout and you'll have dead subs afterwards.

So yes, just in my opinion say it along the lines of "As a thanks for subscribing to me I'm going to do this" instead of "If you want a shoutout, make sure to subscribe to me". Hope that made some sense

That's the nature of a contest. There really isn't a reason to explain, that's the whole point.

Yeah this is so true.

I did an experiment on my channel with a game giveaway. While streaming on twitch to like 200 people, I had a go to my youtube and check it out kinda call out. I'll do a random number gen game giveaway for everyone who is subscribed to the channel. I gained about 30 subs right then (most of the people in my channels are regulars who subbed already anyway). I did the giveaway, instantly lost like 21 subscribers lol. Giveaways or contests are terrible for gaining active subs but great for current subs. Also, it's technically against YT's TOS to do any promotion toward gaining views/subs etc.

This is a great idea, I believe, and will encourage participation. When there's something like getting a little advertising for their channel as a prize, people definitely get involved!
