Channel Banner Too Light

So, I've been trying to change my channel banner. The problem is that the banner is coming out too light and not how it is meant to be.

I want to give an example of how it's suppose to be and how it's coming out but you can't post links here...

Before anyone tells me the rudimentary stuff, yes I have tried all correct formats, in the right compression's, it;s the correct size and all that other jazz. I just want to know if anyone has come across this, why it's happened and how it could be fixed.

Top one is how it's coming out on the channel, bottom is how it's meant to be in terms of lighting.[DOUBLEPOST=1369699131,1369694940][/DOUBLEPOST]It's like the colours are washed out.

The image doesn't really show the difference sadly, it does look quite washed out and the colours aren't quite right. I think it's because of the image quality of where I hosted the example.

If anyone can help I would be greatful.
