Channel advertising question

I not interested in using virool but I'm sure it's not botted. They advertise on adsense and are all over legitimate sites. Plus have real stars promoting their service. No way they are botting that blatantly.

Hmm...I dunno, I'm just going by what people have said before.

Is YouTube's promotion aimed at all videos? I took a look at it and the first option was the pre-roll ad. So my real question is, should only short videos be promoted, say 30 seconds promoting a channel, or any videos like a 5 minute short film? I know a lot of people would be quite annoyed if they wanted to watch a 1 minute clip and a 5 minute video played before it (even if they had the option to skip).
