Changing Ownership of Channel + Adsense

I'm in the process of changing ownership of my channel. When I started youtube for some reason I didn't create a gmail account to match my channel name and used an unprofessional gmail account to get linked.. This is when this was gmail was first integrated on YouTube. I didn't think it was too big of a deal back then. Fast forward and I have problems staying logged in to YouTube and Blogspot (for youtube related blogs) at the same time since they use different gmails. Plus I would much rather prefer my YouTube emails to go to the professional one so I can leave it open at all times on my computer and phone.

I have the correct gmail as a manager of my channel on Google+ and I have the correct gmail as an admin on Adsense. What's stopping me from transferring ownership is that I haven't seen anyone that's experienced this and I don't want to lose any of the little potential revenue I have in case I have to go through a transition period.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know if the channel is linked to the adsense account? Or the google+ page linked to adsense? I want to think the former. Sorry if I'm not making much sense, I'm a little confused about this. Hopefully someone can enlighten me.

I did this a few months ago just to test it out and see if I could transfer ownership without losing the adsense connection to my Youtube channel. I believe you have to do the following:

  1. Add the google account that you want to transfer the ownership to as a manager of the page currently attached to the Youtube channel that you want to transfer by going into the Google plus settings and clicking the manager tab, then clicking add manager and sending an invite. Once the invite is received and confirmed, the manager will appear on that screen (if your YT channel is connected to a personal G+ profile you will need to first go into advanced YT settings and move the YT channel to another page you own (one that you create specifically to transfer out, for example).
  2. Then, you go into the settings of the google plus page currently attached to your Youtube channel and click on 'managers' tab at the top. You should see the manager you just set (the account you want to transfer the YT channel to).
  3. In the dropdown there will be a choice to transfer ownership of the G+ page to that manager. Once you do that, the google plus account along with the YT channel attached to it will be owned by the new google account and still connected to the same adsense it was all along. Keep in mind that the new account needs to be manager of your google plus page one full day before being able to make it owner.

That process is detailed here: https://support.google.com/business...c=4539640&vid=1-635791834650251187-4010322344

Let me go do it again just to make sure I'm giving you accurate information and to make sure nothing changes with the Adsense. Standby (unless someone else chimes in with an accurate answer).[DOUBLEPOST=1443589125,1443586961][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm 99% sure that the adsense account will not disconnect upon transferring ownership of the Google plus page, but if you want to wait a day I'll complete my transfer and tell you for sure (have to wait a full day of being manager before I can transfer ownership).

Also, this is from PeggyK who is a longtime and very knowledgeable Top Contributor on the Google Product forums. She says "Moving your channel will not affect the connected AdSense account and it will stay connected after the move."

Good luck. I've been meaning to transfer my channel anyway. This just gives me a good excuse not to postpone that.

Thank you for all the effort, the google+ page has been manager for a week and I have yet to bite the bullet. Let me know how it goes!

Okay, so I transferred ownership of the google plus page (and therefore, the Youtube channel attached to it) to my main google account and it still says that the channel is linked to the same adsense account. Everything seems completely fine. Identical except that the channel now appears under my main google account.

If you have any questions let me know. Just, whatever you do, don't delete the Google plus page currently associated with your Youtube account by mistake. It will give you a warning if you even try to do that though, letting you know that your youtube channel will be deleted if you delete the associated G+ page.

Thank you for all the help! I changed ownership and I still have the correct adsense. Hopefully it will be smooth with the old gmail account linked to my adsense with both as admins! I definitely won't delete any accounts, I have too much attached to this account with my phone too (android probs). Thank you thank you!

It is a shame the Adsense account cannot be transferred over too, that would make shifting Google accounts so much easier. I know you can close them but you would need to make a new one to use it again.

You're welcome! Glad to hear everything went okay. Good luck with your channel.

Good luck to you too!

On adsense I see an x next to the previous (old) gmail and the current (new and logged in) gmail is greyed out so I can't uncheck it to remove it.. I am highly tempted to remove the old gmail, but I'll leave it alone. Oh my god it's so tempting.

Yeah, it's a pain in the neck but right now there's no getting around that policy. You could create a new adsense in your business's name while the old one in your personal name still exists, though. That way, if something goes wrong and you don't get approved, you still have your old adsense functioning.

If you had only 60 subs and 150 views I'd say go for it. I think you're smart for leaving it alone. I wouldn't trust that at all. I'd say ask Adsense support, but Adsense support is still not available to anyone earning Youtube revenue, which is nonsense.
