Changing matched third party content

I recently over sighted some in game music to a popular game and received a 3rd party content notification, telling me the video will remain but it will be monetized by the music owner. Not a big deal, but im curious if anyone knows if they have the power to change their action to a block or strike in the future?

No way to change the action by YouTube unless you appealed, just mute the music while editing or turn it off in-game settings.

So as it stands, they will monetize the video and nothing can change? Which is what I want. Only if I dispute can they change it to a strike? Yeah ill just avoid playing that game in the future. So many other YouTubers play it I wouldn't have guessed they all take an ID claim like this.

Ibreakmatter is correct. U can mute the music and do ur voiceover or place any royalty free music on it :)

But I know how to prevent this from happening in the future, like I said it was a stupid over sight since so many other people have used this music. What im wondering is, can a claimant change their punishment after dealing it? In the future, can they change it from simple monetization with no channel consequences to a strike.

I think they wont change the rules. The probability of changing is 0.1 :)

I guess they are physically capable of doing so, but since they generally allow it like in your case I doubt they will. But still possible... No experience with it though...

So wait, you want to change it to a strike instead of being able to collect ad-revenue? Don't strikes eventually lead to potentially being unable to receive any revenue later on?

Yes, the copyright owner can change the ContentID action.

The copyright strike side isn't related to ContentID though. They can submit a DMCA takedown at any time, regardless of what their ContentID policy action is set to for the piece.
