Can't Import MP4 Files Into Camtasia?

Every time I attempt to import an MP4 file into Camtasia it says it doesn't support the file type?
Any help appreciated!

It might because it can't read the codec.

Its a codec issue, and it's stupid but its a real problem.

My solution. Download VLC.

Media > Convert/Save > Add File .mp4 that you want to use in Camtasia > Convert and save as new file name same file type .mp4. No quality loss, just redoes codec and works in camtasia.
