Canon T3

I've Got It
Hey everyone,

I've been thinking about trading my Canon T3 because I really hate how there isn't a screen to watch my self record. So I just wanted to ask anyone if it's a good idea to trade the T3 with a T3i.

Also, are T3 lenses compatible with T3i camera bodies?

It might be a good idea since it has a bit of a better sensor. All canon dslr lenses are compatible with canon dslr bodies :)

The lenses will be compatible if you want to swap them out.

And upgrading your equipment is never a bad thing! To my knowledge the T3 doesn't have a 3.5 mic jack either? This could be a big hindrance as well when you want to start upgrading audio.

Is the canon T3i the same as a canon 600D? If so, you should deffo get it, it's awesome! :D

Well thats's great. I need to try to find the cheapest T3i bodies.

Also, MagicLantern is on my T3. Do you think I could still sell it..? I'm not sure if ML is on the camera itself, or my SD card.

This. I found this out the hard way after purchasing a Rode VideoMic.

If in a pinch, you need to be able to see yourself with the T3, just plug it into the computer and use the Canon EOS software and use live view shoot. Anywho, have you considered the Canon T2i? I've heard of a lot of filmmakers using that camera over the T3i.

I remember being told about that.. But I think I might still go for the t3i cause I think its easier[DOUBLEPOST=1388559401,1388559256][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah overall the t2i is more commonly used. For some reason people seem to stay away from the t3i.

I use the T3i and love it. I use magic lantern and a rode mic on it and works great. The swivel screen is great for getting your camera in weird angles. you can always see the image. Only problem though is that it stops recording after longer sessions. I chop that up to running magic lantern on some slower cards (from 30 to 45MB/s has extended my record time but not much)[DOUBLEPOST=1388676587,1388676425][/DOUBLEPOST]And the cheapest body will depend on where you live. For me I bought mine about 8 months ago for about $680AU just looked online and the cheapes I found is cambuy dot com dot au for $469AU
