Canon 80D Question

Just got the Canon 80d. From what I see a lot of people shoot there videos in Manual mode. I know how to use this mode well from taking pictures. I notice when I do my video I set it for the right aptrue. But how do you go about keeping the settings right when you get into an area where its darker and you have to reset it. For example, we were walking down a road then went into a hiking trail in the forest. I had to keep resetting it so that it wasn't dark. Is it better just to shoot on automatic setting in this kind of environment?

Yeah, if the environment keeps changing and if I need to constantly film, I'd probably put it on auto mode. It kind of stinks, because I think Canon sort of over-exposes things in auto mode. I think manual is best when there aren't too many things moving around and changing, like if you need to film a section of the video with a tripod. ^_^

You could just use manual mode for little snippets of video. So..perhaps try using 10 seconds of walking down a path (in manual mode) and then cut to a new scene. :)
