I am looking to upgrade my camera from a Rebel Canon T3i to a Canon 6D or Canon 5D Mark III... Looking for some good advise. Is the Canon 5D MArk III worth the money? Or, will the 6D be just fine...

the 5d is expesive as the features are amazing..27 focus points.. 4pps blast ... which is a lot of pics a sec.. i would go to the mark 3 .. i got a 550d.. but i saw the differnece and WOW also a guy made a comparisson.. the mark 3 is the best ... everything is build for perfection! :)

It depends on what you're using it for. If your primary use is video, the 6D is plenty capable-it has nearly all the same features as a 5D mkIII at a substantial discount. If you're heavy into action/sports photography, you'll need the fuller featured/faster 5D mkIII.

Also, if you're not planning to buy right away, consider waiting for the upcoming 70D that will release in September: http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/02/canon-70d-hands-on/

I have moved this thread to the 'Video Editing, Recording ,Software & Hardware' section of the forum.
and Wreckless Eating knows a ton about equipment :)
Thanks for Moving it the tread! I hope I can get a review from Wreckless Eating. That would be awesome!

digitalrevtv did a good (and very entertaining) comparison between the two on youtube
I think the main difference is price. They're both full frame. 5d mark III has better build quality. 6d is smaller and lighter. Different button layout: 6d has most buttons laid out on the right side, so you can easily shoot with one hand. In terms of specs, 5d mark III is obviously better, but in my opinion it's not too much of a noticeable difference. They're both great quality.
but yeah, keep an eye out for the 70d. It's way less money, and looks pretty good.

oh wow... and i thought 17.9 MP on my 550d was good.. now i feel ashamed :( i hate when new things come out.. i feel outdated -.-

Im actually considering selling my 650D and buying the 70D as soon as that comes out.
Mine is mainly used for filming anyway, and that autofocus on the 70D looks awesome!
