Can You Specify Images On Uploaded VIDS ?

I know when I upload vids I get a choice of 3 sceenshots to use as the "still" for my video. But is there a way to specify different "stills" other than the 3 youtube initially offers ? Like is there a way for me to choose which part of the vid is used as the placeholder that everyone sees before they press play ?

You're talking about custom thumbnail. I don't know really, I haven't found option to do that on my channel yet. :/
 
I think you need to be partned in order to choose a custom thumbnail. There was a way to get around it but It didn't worked anymore.

( Correct me If im wrong )
 
Apparently you can get the option to put custom thumbnails when you reach a certain amount of total video views. Not sure what it was (I think it was 5k) but I might be wrong
 
Actually there wrong, I have 1,621 views and 6 subs and I have custom thumbnails, all I had to do is monetize my videos to get them. Youtube randomly gives them out to monetized youtube accounts, for example. My second channel that I only posted two videos to got them, while my gaming channel did not get them after I upload over twenty, so its random.
 
Yes, but even after you enable it might take them a while to give them to you, or they could give them to you instantly. To make sure you get them at all you need to be monetized though.
