Can you monetize remix's?

I'm not sure how most musicians handle on youtube, are there certain requirements to remixing other peoples created music that allow me to monetize?

yeh i tried to upload a remix but i couldn't .... just make sure that every song you are using that you ask the artist if its ok to use for a remix... if they say yes then go ahead .... and once its uploaded you might get a third party claim on the video but you can dispute it and just give the evidence that you was allowed to use the music then all is fine

It's dependent on if the artist, producer, or a random person remixed it, also depends on if the copyright they have covers segments or the whole song.
