Can you monetise pokemon go videos on youtube?

Internet Idiot who loves making people laugh
I want to make an app review/walkthrough of pokemon go onto youtube, but i suddenly realised that i may not be able to monetise this

I have 2 ways of doing this, either screen recording my phone, and filming the game as picture in picture as the overall outcome

or just filming my screen at certain intervals with my video camera when i am talking about certain things

Will either of these options allow me to monetise it, or will neither or even both

I will probably still upload regardless but i don't want to risk losing money again due to a copyright claim especially if the video happens to get popular

Thanks in advance!

Under fair use for a review you should be ok to monetize but you would probably rather have advice from someone who has done youtube for longer then a week so I hope your video does well and you get the answer you are searching for:)

I looked up the Nintendo creators program and apparently 1. You can only use it for certain games Pokemon go isn't on there and 2. You can't use it if you're in the UK. I'm on an iPhone but I already have a screen recorder that should do the job but Thankyou everyone :)

I don't think it's technically a Nintendo title. It was developed by Niantic and published by The Pokémon Company, which I know Nintendo is a part-owner of. This is a gray area and I haven't heard of any issues with monetizing Pokémon Go content, so far.

It's a transformative work so it should be ok under fair use. There have been plenty of lets plays up already so your review will probably be fine. I just uploaded a Pokemon GO related video today and did not get Content ID on the audio (although, I wasn't playing the audio very long)
