Can I make gameplay videos?

Hi everyone. I make toy opening videos on my channel. And I am thinking of doing some gameplay videos too. As long as I add commentary to the video is it ok to monetize the video. I was thinking of doing videos on the new Disney infinity games since they go well with my channel. Or should I stay away from the videos because I worked really hard to grow my channel and I would hate to lose it to something like posting a video game video that may or may not get many views.

Its fine to do commentaries over any gameplay and monetize the vide besides companies like Nintendo don't allow you to as well as some companies don't allow you to show you their story with all the cut-scenes. Just do google search on YouTube Monetize rules with that company who made the game.

You can do whatever you want on your channel And yeah you can monetize gameplay as long as it is allowed. I always have this handy wiki that helps with the companies.

Just because you add commentary to a gaming video doesn't mean you can monetize it. Some developers/publishers don't allow monetization of their games and some games have copyrighted visual or audio content that comes up as a Content ID match.

Best thing to do is to research or contact the developers/publishers if they allow youtube monetization of their games. If there is no Content ID match, you could probably get away with monetizing it.
