Hi, what if I say at 5k subscribers we will do a special video. Is this OK or is it against TOS? Can I reply to each comment to let them know the new subscriber challenge?
I said something like, subscriber challenge ! once we hit x subscribers we will do this _______ video!
Is this OK?
You could do that, but just because you
can do that doesn't mean that you
should do that.
Speaking as both a regular YouTube watcher and content creator myself, I would not want to support someone doing what you are doing.
Why support someone who cares more about how many subs they can get at once by clickbaiting them, rather than how they themselves
can improve their content and improve their communication skills with their existing audience, and grow out a more loyal, social audience naturally?
I am sure you have a good channel, but the way you treat your subs as mere numbers to tally up to one bigger number does not interest me for one in supporting your channel, and I highly doubt I'm the only one who feels this way. It feels just like one of the many sub-for-sub tactics other desperate channels try to utilize to force-feed growth into their channel.
Try continuing to put out good content, not locking some of your best potential videos behind subscriber paywalls, so to speak.
You can definitely ask for people to subscribe, but don't force them to.
