Hey guys, I really hope I'm not asking something that gets asked frequently. I'm kind of new to this whole youtube thing and have tried to research this topic for like twenty-four whole hours. Put simply, I just want to understand how Youtubers can have Top40 music playing in their awesome videos and not get copyrighted and still make heaps of money? I hate to drop names but a perfect example would be Aspyn Ovard..... her videos all have big popular songs in them but from what I understand she makes a living off youtube.
Is it anything to do with her selecting the creative commons attribution licence or is that nothing to do with it?
Am I destined for a life of searching through millions of cringe-worthy royalty free tracks or is there a way I can use popular music? I don't even want to use top40 stuff, just anything that suits my theme like trevor hall, ziggy marley etc......
Kind Regards!
