Can a Vlogger grow up to become a high-fashion model?

Crown

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A very interesting YouTube success story:

"At the age of 10, Amanda Steele became a YouTube star for her beauty tutorials. Now, at 17-years-old, she's signed by IMG Models and is ready for the fashion world to take her seriously.

When Steele first made a YouTube account six years ago, the terms "vlogger" and "influencer" did not yet exist. She was simply a middle-schooler obsessed with fashion, and one day typed something like, "How to sew" into the search bar. She quickly found herself in a tutorial K-hole, which eventually lead her to the world of beauty-related videos. She started experimenting with her own makeup and hair and "MakeupbyMandy24" was born.

Since then, Steele has amassed almost 2.9 million subscribers.................."

So what do you think of her success story? What was the key to her success?

Being young is the #1 key to success on YouTube, I think. Kids are the largest population that watch it, and if they find someone they can identify with, they're going to be fiercly loyal.

Also, being in the public eye for 7 years, largely self-directed, I'd imagine, would make someone very ready to go into a high-pressure area like fashion modeling. I do wonder if this is just a step towards a larger goal, since the days of the millionaire fashion models of the 90s are largely over (taken over by celebrities).

Being young is the key to success? You wouldn't be saying that because you're middle aged would you?

Dedication, obviously, is the key to success in youtube, just like every single other aspect of life.

My channel is doing well enough for a channel that features the weird content I present, but honestly, look at the demographics...there is a sweet spot for age range in which the audience connects with the people in front of the camera. I'm not bitter about it, and I'm not suffering from lack of dedication, so it's not sour grapes. However, it's (I believe) truthful that being young is one of the key factors of success in media. Also, being good-looking is a key, as well. If you're on other forums for YouTube, there's a huge thread of, "What is X person doing on YouTube? Isn't s/he too old? S/he is almost 30!" so it's there.

I'm not dismissing this woman's accomplishments. She is obviously dedicated, but you also have to know what the landscape is.

Hey! just joined this forum and love the topic! I agree that YouTube is def a place for the younger generation to thrive, however, being 40 I LOVE IT & wouldn't trade it for the world. I believe its what you make it! THE KEY IS PASSION! If you have passion people will want to watch you and get excited over that which you're excited over. Simply put, Henry Ford said, "If you think you can't....you're right! But, if you think you can......you're also right! I love filming beauty and fashion videos!
