Button "Remix this video!" and monetization

Hello!

This is my first post on this forum, I just register.
I do videos on youtube, I have my original video and make a profit from advertising on my videos.

Recently I saw a button "Remix this video!" on some video and clicked on the button and there it was a youtube video editor and I create test video and there was a button for monetization video.

It is legal to create a video using the button "Remix this video!" and monetize it?

If it's your original video, yes. You have the rights to do whatever you want with it.

If it's someone else's video that your using, I suggest not doing so, as that's using someone's content without permission, and could lead to claims/strikes.

I am pretty sure that button only shows for videos on Creative Commons, usually CC allows for re-distribution but not monetization without permission from the original author.
