Business Cards?

I have made 2500 business cards for my channel and they are great for youtube events such as VidCon and Playlist-Live. One thing that I do hate tho is when people just go around and hand out cards.. Make sure you have a conversation with the person first and let them know what you do and then ask them if they would like a business card. Its more affective that way rather than just handing them out when people dont know what you do
 
One good use for them is giving someone you meet/talk to a physical copy of your YT channel's URL. As a full-time producer, anytime someone asks me what I do, I tell them. That usually leads to people wanting to see what I've done. Since they're not going to look up my work until they get home or whatever, a card gives them an easy way to remember where to look. :)
 
I just have wooden clothes peg with my channel stamped on them and peg them on the back of people when they aren't looking so I an have a laugh

Hey man! I like what you say! I've got about 750 that I was planning to randomly just give out as fast as I can to everyone that walks past me, but from what you said it seems like it could actually be more effective overall to stop and talk to each person, even if it means I don't end up handing them all out. You've done this at events like Vidcon? How do the conversations usually end up going? I've never tried at an event like this (I'm going to VIDinc (Australia's version of Vidcon)). Thanks :)

The conversations went pretty good and I actually enjoyed the conversations and most of the times i even ended up checking out their channels and sometimes even making a new friend. If you show them you are a person and show that you are passionate about it, they will check you out instead of you going around handing them out...that shows no character

It's definitely about engaging with people and then using the card to let them know where to follow up. Just like with here, you won't get very far just by dumping a URL on someone and leaving. ;)
 
yeah, i always keep them on me at all times. you never know who you might run into and need a quick easy way to get your info out there. i hand them out to friends so they can easily access my videos. we do pranks, so well hand them out to people we prank so they can check out the vids. we leave them on business card cork board, basically leave them anywhere where they might get some traffic. one thing i really want to do is that code stuff... make like a flyer and hang it up around campus, then people can just whip out their phones and scan it and take them right to our youtube.
