Branding with a Character

Hi guys and gals, so I'm wanting to brand my channel by using a Character. My gaming channel is named AlienNinjaDad and so I think a cool little Alien Ninja character would be great to use in my avatars, thumbnails, banner, etc. (See my current avatar for something I threw together literally in minutes).

My problem is I'm not, how do you say, Artsy. So what's the best resource for getting somebody to make me a nice little Cartoon Alien Ninja, I was thinking maybe Fiverr? I used that for my Captain Oil Change website I used to run which had a SuperHero character, it was somewhat successful. Wasn't sure if anyone else had any options, the cheaper the better. I'm a broke dad of 3 with a wife in college, lol
 
Fiverr is good IMO and cheap. Maybe you could get help here on Yttalk for a shout out or somehing:) It is worth a try anyway...By the way I like your little Alien Ninja it looks nice:up2:
 
Ya, he's not bad but I basically just got some clipart off google image search, changed the skin and a few other minor things and he was born. So it leaves the opportunity for someone to claim it's a derivative work (which it is). Would be nice to have something that's just mine with full rights
 
I could help you, if you'd like :) My style is more Eastern (manga/anime) then Western (cartoon), but if you don't mind that I could make a character for you. I made the chibi in my own banner myself, so that would give you a sense of my style :) You can also go through my DeviantArt to see what other styles I can do.

Haha, that's no problem, right? I do have a Twitter, if you'd rather talk privately.

If you could provide me with a larger file of your avatar and maybe a description about his appearance, character and the pose you'd like, I can rough out a sketch for you :)
 
Believe it or not I don't have a twitter, yet. Anyway it's no matter. So actually my biggest issue is that I don't really know what I want. The little guy in my Avatar is literally the first thing I came across in Google image search that i thought I could manipulate. So that being said I'm open to any artistic input from people. Basically I'm just looking for something that captures my channel name, an Alien Ninja. It's a gaming channel aimed at a broad audience (in other words kid friendly).

That does make it a bit hard n.n" So you are looking for a combination between an alien and a ninja. Are there specific elements you'de like to have included? Such as props (shuriken, etc)? And do you have characteristics in mind, or is a neutral pose sufficient?
 
Ya, maybe a sword or shuriken would be great, neutral pose or maybe a "fighter's stance" I guess. Not really looking for anything too fancy, just something good that I can use across all platforms, banners, avatars, etc for some consistency.

Hey! I'm in the same boat with my gaming channel. Your Alien looks amazing though! Why not try use Twitter to ask if someone would be willing to create the character? There are some people who are looking to gain exposure by helping out smaller youtubers with graphics. Worth a try really. Definitely will keep an eye out on how it'll turn out :)
