No, Blue Mics require a proprietary mounting bracket to use the stands and other mounts that the music industry has been using as standard for years. This proprietary bracket is about $50.
At 1.5 meters from the mic, in an untreated room you will introduce significant room noise (echo) into the recording. Generally speaking, all microphones are poor at that kind of distance. Shotgun mics specifically would be the best as they are very unidirectional, meaning they don't pick up audio from the sides or back which will reduce the echo, but even still you end up with a much weaker sound at longer distances. Most people seem to solve this via shotgun mics mounted above the subject to keep the mic out of the video picture. I've never seen a Blue shotgun mic though.
The majority of Blue mic users don't seem to really know why they choose Blue mics. It's just the name they heard the most, kinda like Dre Beats, Dyson vacuums or Bose headphones.
