Better in the long run if I am funny or serious?

I am starting a gaming channel, and I was wondering if being funny or serious would help me get views and keep subscribers. I've seen success under both categories, but was wondering what you guys think.
 
I feel funny is easier as a lot of youtube viewers watch videos for enjoyment purposes, The question is what are you more confortable with as some youtubers try to be funny and it seems really fake and forced. if you are naturally funny then go that route if not take the other :) you may find some videos are required to be more serious and others not. i hope my adviced helped

You can have a sense of humor while being serious as long as you don't try to hard. There are a lot of commentators who resort to vulgarity just to be funny when it's the exact opposite, but that's just an example. The most important thing is to be YOU. Don't act like something you're not comfortable with. You audience has to accept you for who you are.
