Best Way to Tag?

Hello everyone!

I got VidIQ a few months ago and always try to see how people tag their videos and stuff (feel kinda stalker-ish). I have noticed some people putting bigger YouTuber's channel names in their tags - I was told that that wasn't a good way to tag?

We normally put in the normal - daily vlog, vlog, vlogging couple and have also been checking our analytics for the tags that are most looked for :)
 
I believe the video and the tags have to be relevant to one another. So if the videos are putting Pewdiepie or Athenelol in the tags and it doesn't pertain to those people, then it would be considered spammy.

In all honesty, if someone is going to search for those people by their channel names, I doubt a smaller channel's video is going to come up in the page 1 search results anyways. It's a bit silly to do IMO.

I normally just try and think of every single relevant tag for the video's topic then saturate the tags with variations of them. At least that's what I try and do. I see nothing wrong with having standard tags for all your videos or of a particular type of video (such as for each individual game you do videos for) and then add in your more specific and focused tags after that.

What's VidIQ, is that an app on Chrome?
 
Put tags like how you're gonna search for a video. For example, youre video is a cover of a song. Put "name of the song" cover as tag. You can also put "name of the song" + "name of the artist"
