Best way to Schedule

So I am a new YouTuber and I only have one video. I am a college student at the same time so scheduling can be difficult for me at times. That being said, I had an idea for scheduling to upload videos and I want your opinions on it.

So instead of doing 1 a week or day, I figured I would wait for my latest video to hit a certain amount of views (I was thinking about 100) and then once I reach that amount of views I'll upload my next video. This way it will give the video time to grow and it gives me time to record another video. Opinions?

Thank you.

Well I think it depends a lot on the types of videos you'd like to make. Personally when I was making videos while being a full time student, I found it quite manageable. For me, it just came down to having a shooting, editing, and uploading schedule. For example, the schedule could look like:

- Shoot every Mondays from 5-6:30pm
- Edit on Mondays from 6:30-9pm
- Upload on Tuesday at 8am before going to school

If you can get into a shooting, editing, & uploading routine, it can be relatively simple to upload videos on a consistent & regular basis. If you preferred to post without a schedule & wait for your video to hit a certain number before uploading the next, I think that'd probably work okay. The thing I'd be worried about though is that what if it takes the video a long time to hit the number of views you wanted? Then you wouldn't be able to upload for a long time.

Hope that essay of a response helped haha!

What if your video never hits that amount of views? Sometimes that is a nice incentive for YouTubers with pre-established fan bases. Like if we get so many likes I will make another episode.

However they keep uploading material in the meantime while they wait.

I feel like if you pursued that, you would have a very scattered and non consistent schedule.

I'd suggest getting your class schedule and finding out something that works for you. Most people work while in college. And when you work you have a schedule. So why can't you?

Just find time around classes, make a routine and then make it a thing! It shouldn't be too hard. At one point of time I was making 10 videos a week while attending college full time.

In theory this method works.
But HOWEVER this may lead to your audience getting dissatisfied and unsubbing if you don't upload for too long. Also note, there are Youtubers who do this though (mainly to get more subs before uploading more) and they usually get a lot of criticism for this.
Yeah, tl;dr I don't recommend this.

Personally i choose to upload every Sunday. I wouldn't want to leave it down to the views as i'd be worried about not hitting the figure!

Also uploading every week was achieveable and a specific day/time gives a viewer or sub something to look forward to.

It is a good idea in THEORY but when you put it into PRACTICE I think you may be a little disappointed in how it may turn out.
Doing what Azren said and having a schedule to work off of certainly helps me out a lot as I work full time, so you could possibly start there and see how it pans out.

I think this would be good if you kept a maximum time. Like if it takes 3 days to reach X views, then upload after three days. But if after a week you don't, then just upload anyway.
