Nope, maybe it`s more to do with your Computers specs if programs are crashing for you.

Most other recording programs shouldn't crash. Sounds like your computer has compatibility issues.

Fraps has never crashed for me and looks fine at 1080p

There's several threads on this question, why create yet another one to add to them..? I swear I've said in two threads alone just today that Fraps is the best in my opinion. Better make that three threads now... Although if you have technical issues from being unable to run basic recording programs, I'd suggest getting a lil more RAM or a better CPU.

Depends what you're recording. Fraps is the best for gaming in my experience, though it doesn't work with absolutely every game you'll play
