Best program to record Minecraft gameplays and other games!

Guys, there is like 2 GOOD programs to record HD quality for minecraft videos!
1- FRAPS, very good quality, paid but *cough* you can crack it *cough*, takes A LOT of space. Not talking a few gigabytes. 2 hours of recording easily fills about 50 gigs, 3-4 gigs per 10min wich is a lot!
2- CAMSTASIA, records screen in very compact files, later compress-able through the program itself (wich is awesome), very plain and simple to use! :)

Those are really the 2 best programs to record minecraft, but also other games :p

I use Camstasia myself but I hate the fact that I have to save it as a Camstasia file in order to keep the sound. I'd love to be able to just record and then save it as a MP4.

I used FRAPS for quite a while and it certainly gives some of the best quality. At the moment I'm experimenting with using Bandicam, the quality is extremely close to fraps (make sure the settings in bandicam are cranked up) and the filesize is much smaller. I had about 12GB of video for 3 hours of minecraft. EDIT: forgot to add in another 4GB of audio files for that recording, still a lot smaller though.

Another feature I like a lot in Bandicam is that it handles splitting out sound recording into 2 separate wav files all in the one program. I get the PC sound (still includes skype sound unfortunately) separate from my mic input so it's a breeze to filter out background noise and balance the levels.

I used FRAPS but I dont record in full 1080 HD. My screen size is 1080 but I get FRAPS to record at half the resolution and I make sure my editing is saved at the 990x540 resolution. Most of my raw footage is about 12Gb for a 20min video (Here I advise to have at least invested in a 1Tb hard drive). I know there are other programs out there (like Bandicam) but they tend to clunk up the gears in my PC and give me even more headaches than I need with system lag.

Personally I think HD for Youtube is severe overkill and you would only really need it if you are asking your audience to read small writing.

Well I use Fraps, and for me its the best. but to use it I recommend to use a Hard Drive with like 2Tb cause it takes a lot of space :p I record a 7min video in FULL HD, and took about 11gb. Wich is a lot.

For our YouTube videos, we use Fraps and then render the video in HD, however as most people have already said the problem with fraps is the huge files so yeah we use External Hard Drives to save the video on and then distribute it to each other using those as they are just so big, even a couple of seconds is about 100mb!

I have tried using Camstasia but didn't get much joy out of it so would definitely recommend Fraps to everyone accompanied by a large storage device!

The games we usually record Minecraft, WoW, GW2 and League of Legends and the quality if perfect!

Yeah we used Camtasia for ages and the framerate dropped constantly, it was really annoying
With FRAPS it is a huge file and it means I have to edit or render the file immediately so I have space on my hard drive, but in terms of overall quality of video, I would recommend FRAPS

Hope that helps :)

hey i use camstatia but i cant seem to get my webcam to work with it and people on youtube just click a few buttons and it works. I also have properly installed my webcam following instructions and everything :/ Any idea why ?

Also it like to pick and choose which games it records anybody know why as it doesn't record minecraft :S

Any help would be much appreciated and taken into consideration :)
