Best Program for PC Gaming/Recording

JordanGoesGaming

I've Got It
So, I see many people saying they use FRAPS. Fraps is great and all but I prefer OBS over Fraps. Some people think of OBS as a streaming software, which it is, BUT you can configure it to save to a hard drive instead of streaming. It is not CPU intensive and still produces great quality video recording..

How Can I Do This?

Start by googling OBS and you can download and install from there.

After you've downloaded and installed you will want to set it up for recording. OBS allows multiple profiles and allows you to change with just a few click between streaming and recording. Anyways, some good settings are below.

Click start streaming to begin your recording.
Also, recording to a separate HDD/Storage Device is advised for any recording software.

Hope this helps some people out :D

Thanks for the tips Jordan! :D

Wish I could use ShadowPlay but I can't afford a new PC. My motherboard isn't compatible with the GTX 600 or 700 series. :(

You could try DXTORY. Some people swear by it, however there's a reason FRAPS has been around as long as it has. It's reliable and works like a charm. DXTORY has terrible output codecs as well, so right off the bat I wasn't a fan.

Never tried OBS, but if it works for you, that's all that matters.

OBS is by far the best in my opinion. I've used DXtory, FRAPS, xSplit.. and none of them work well for me at all.

DXTory and Fraps are my favourite, both with hteir respective codecs require very little CPU power, however they require a fast HDD/SSD.
