Best (on budget) video editor that I can use effects on?

Hey. I have had so many problems with my editor that I have completely given up! I need something on budget as I am a student. But I also need something that can do effects or comes with a separate software to do effects. Any advice would be great! Also I need it to be able to render 1080p :)

I personally use the free version of Lightworks and it works great! In order to get 1080p you have to buy the full version. They have a plan that's like 8 bucks a month for the full version. It can be a little frustrating to get used to it, but I've found it easy to use and the site has an active forum if you run into trouble!
 
Ahh sorry I couldn't help then. I have noticed that some functions are more annoying than they used to be too. Let me know if you find anything cause I'd love to test out something else and compare it!
 
The best budget effects suite by far is 'Motion' which you can get for about fifty dollars in the Mac App Store. It is arguarbly just as powerful as Adobe's 'After Effects' at one twentieth of the price :p
 
I use Hitfilm Ultimate 2. Its a good software that runs like Premier and After effects meshed together with pre-rendered effects ready for customization and use. Hitfilm Express was free recently, but I think that deal may have ended...
Worth looking up though :)
