Best capture software?

NIP

Raaawrrr Raaaaawwrr Raaaaaawrr!
I have been using fraps for my videos lately, but do you guys know of a better capture software?
I have heard about dxtory, but I'm not sure about it.

Dxtory is pretty good, same quality as FRAPS with Logarith Losless Codac(free codec you can download), and the one thing that made me switch to dxtory was the fact that it creates one giant file per recording, this makes keeping track of the files so much easier, plus it takes less of performance hit as compared to Fraps, and im not saying that because i have a crappy PC, im running I5 3570k with GTX 670 SLI, even then there was still performance degradation with FRAPS

A lot of programs are pretty good, but a lot of them seem to have many problems that I have found when trying to find the right recording software. Honestly I recommend XSplit. I know it's a streaming software, but it's local recordings are really good and I have found I don't take much of a performance hit at all. Get the trial edition, check it out, I think you'll find you like it.

Fraps creates one file per recording. You just need to uncheck the split movie every 4 gigabytes option.

I use OBS. It's free and does Local Recording if you like it to, without the huge file sizes that fraps boasts.
