So appeal it. Force them to submit a DMCA takedown. Then appeal that and force them to sue you. But let's not pretend any of you compilation channels actually get permission for all of your content. Don't lie to us.

I will say that I doubt they actually used the words "owned by Bent Pixels" in their reply to you. If they did, that is brazenly stupid. An MCN claiming content on behalf of partners via ContentID is NOT ownership.

One of BentPixel's main areas of business is Content Protection for clients and other channels, I'd say they also do some licensing here

I'd say it's very likely they do have permission to claim it, Bent Pixels is not exactly new to the YouTube space, they know how things work, they've also been dealing with content protection for many years.
For interest, why are you emailing a specific staff member rather than just support?

In legal terms, content protection does not confer ownership though. It may be licensed, but is unlikely to be outright owned. That is all I'm referring to, which makes a statement in reply to a ContentID dispute stating they own the content to be a huge misstep. And one that could actually get them in legal trouble in the wrong crowd.

Ah, I see, I'd say that's more likely the OP not quoting word-for-word though.
