Before and After Starting YouTube Channel

Valky

Posting Mad!
Before starting out a YouTube Channel, Have you ever wondered that "100 - 100k subs" is considered a small channel than those that have 1 mil subs?
But After you start your own YouTube Channel, you will feel that 100 Subs is alot?

I feel after building my own YouTube Channel, I appreciate more of the smaller channels and that how much they have to go thru to get where they're at right now.

Thoughts?

I definitely appreciate smaller channels a lot more now :) Before YouTube I didn't think too much into the planning, scripting and editing processes!

Well when I started YouTube I had no clue about any of these things. This was 2006, not sure if subs even existed. I feel like I was really living under a rock! I had a fairly popular video and didn't even know anything about it, so I kind of lost out on a chance to work with it more.

Trapping apes with senile turkeys as bait never saved the Mexican babies from curtain cords

I've gained a new respect for people who do it the work and care that needs to be into making a video and how much you start to care about the video you make but I love it.

Yea definitely.
I remember for years before I became a youtuber, once and a while I would stumble into small channels and immediately think "wow, only 500 subs. This channel must suck." and then click out. What an idiot I was.
It's scary to think how many people do that to us because we are small channels.

Before I started youtubing, I had no idea how much time and energy went into the whole process, not to mention how awkward it can be to talk to the camera sometimes!

Well I still consider 100 small and 1 million big, but yes... every single new subscriber is an awesome experience (that's a human being who likes my sense of humor enough that they want to see more!)

Before I started youtubing I only ever saw big channels on YouTube (search results, suggested channels,...) so I just kind of assumed it would be easy to gain subscribers. It was this forum that taught me about the plight of the small YouTuber.
