Hello

How are you doing?

My Name is Oliver

I am a young broke student with a passion for gaming who is trying to build a business I started my new youtube channel where I will be posting my best gaming adventures and actions but problem is the market I am currently on is very crowded and has lot of publishers so I went to mother youtube and ask for help by searching "how to become a youtube gamer" one of the suggestions it came up with which I haven't tried or hear of before was to join a youtube network.

So my questions for you guys is basically what is the best network to make a partnership with?

I have read some reviews here on yttalk of freedom and machinema and this is definitely not the type I want to work with.

I am a new small gamer and only want to join a network that cares about me, understand my problems and actually want to help me.

I don't think there is any real answer since Networks (from what I have seen) center to genre a lot. Which is not a horrible thing but some may not be as good as another but at the same time have perks the other does not. I think the other thing is if the person decides to switch genres mid contract. So if a channel goes from let's say gaming to make up. (May seem weird but I have seen channels do that kind of thing before) With that said the network may stand by you still but not %100 sure. I have heard people say smaller networks are best since you won't get screwed over.

We are not part of a Network and my mate has been with one for over a year now. Whenever I talk to him about it, he says he can't tell me a single benefit he's received and that he doesn't really use their tools.

I suggest building your own success and considering Networks later when you have more bargaining power for your contract :)

You gotta just make the best videos you can, be consistent and a lil bit lucky. Just start making what you wanna make and learn as much as you can around the forum. There's a ton of information and everyone's helpful. It'll be slow to start but with time will grow. Making videos is super fun so no matter what happens at least its fun to do :)

To quote Vision from Avengers. I don't think it's quite that simple. I've been with multiple networks and the only thing that changes from what I've seen is the rev share. Other than that, most networks are similar. Fullscreen was interesting from a time because if you qualify for Gorilla sponsorships, you can cash in on higher CPMs and stuff like that.

Not to dissuade you or say it can't be done, but if you're starting a YouTube channel (in gaming no less) to make money- good luck and try not to get your hopes up too high.

The vast majority of channels will never collect a check from Google...and those who do are either extremely lucky, in an industry that's not completely saturated, or work incredibly hard to get their channel to the level they want it to be (often a mixture of all 3).

A network won't magically make your channel go to the front of the the existing gaming channels list.

In fact it won't do anything to help you.

If you think that you can make a living out of YT gaming then I'm afraid you need to have a rethink on what you are up against.

To succeed you need to offer better quality content, possibly that differs from the rest of the herd.

Why would they watch your channel over the rest of the offerings ?

If that sounds harsh, well you don't understand the nature of YT progression.

YT audience knows what they want, and to succeed you had better be able to supply it.

I cater for a niche section of YT and have no problem growing the channel. I have the experience and information they are seeking - not every one can supply this. So I have the advantage.

You are trying to compete with the established big boys, and that's a tough ask, in an over saturated market.

Good luck.

Rob
