Yup with my 7D, makes it way more bigger and heavier haha. But it's amazing for taking portrait shots and the batter life is doubled (obviously haha).

Way more comfortable to shoot portrait photos, haven't used it for videos though. Mainly for extra battery life.
 
Yes, a battery grip pretty much lives on our cameras (T3i). We use to double battery life and make battery changes faster during shoots (no need to unmount the camera from the tripod or rig).
