Banner Help

I m thinking of creating a banner for my channel, but I have no idea about anything to do with creating banners and how to do it, is there any tips on making a banner like what to use and any general tips, thanks

What software are you planning on using? I recommend Photoshop but if you need a free solution GIMP would work fine. I also recommend using the template for Photoshop stickied in this forum so you know where youre designing. Other than that I recommend using text that is readable and clear good quality images if you are using any
